PM Modi launched 10 new Train initiatives from Ahmedabad

Vande Bharat train: With PM Modi launching 10 additional trains on Tuesday, there will be more than 50 trains running throughout the states.

On Tuesday, March 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened 10 new Vande Bharat trains, bringing the total number of these trains to over 50 and covering 45 routes across the country. Currently, the Indian Railways covers 24 states and 256 districts with 41 Vande Bharat Express trains that connect states with Broad Gauge (BG) electrified networks.

Two Vande Bharat trains will run on six routes: Delhi-Katra, Delhi-Varanasi, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Mysuru-Chennai, Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram, and presently, Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad.

The majority of Vande Bharat trains operate on electrified wide gauge networks that cross multiple states.

On the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route, two Vande Bharat trains will leave from both ends at around the same time

As part of ten new superfast expresses, PM Modi will launch the second Vande Bharat train on the Ahmedabad–Mumbai route. Train two will operate for six days a week, excluding Sundays.

Beginning on March 13, two Vande Bharat trains will leave from both ends of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai line at almost the same time, making it the first in the nation.

On March 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open the second train of the ten new Vande Bharat superfast expresses that will be built across the nation via videoconference.
Train number two (22960) will leave Ahmedabad at 6.10 am and arrive at Mumbai Central at 11.35 am. Train number one (20901) leaves Mumbai Central at 6 am and arrives in Gandhinagar at 12.25 pm.
The first train (20902) departs Gandhinagar at 2.05 pm and arrives at Mumbai Central at 8.25 pm. The second train (22961) leaves Mumbai Central at 3.55 pm and arrives at Ahmedabad at 9.25 pm. These are the departure and arrival times for the trains traveling backwards.

The new Vande Bharat will make stops at stations in Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali in both directions. It will consist of executive and AC chair cars.
Over 9.75 lakh people used the Mumbai-Ahmedabad (Gandhinagar) route between March 1, 2023, and February 29 of this year, according to sources, making it one of the busiest. 4.97 lakh passengers have traveled from Gandhinagar to Mumbai over the past year, and 4.79 lakh have ridden the same train in the opposite direction. Over the duration of the operation, this 16-car train with 1,128 seats has made 312 trips on each side.
The Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat will be extended by the WR to Okha. There are five trains operating in the WR network at the moment.
In addition to the second train, Modi will open a number of amenities at the stations in Mumbai Central, Mahim, Andheri, and Borivali, including restaurants on wheels. The PM will also open a Vande Bharat manufacturing facility in Latur and a VB chair car maintenance and workshop depot in Pune. Along with four train coach restaurants at Nashik Road, Akola, Andheri, and Borivali, the Chandrapur district will also see the opening of five Jan Aushadi Kendras at LTT, Manmad, Pimpri, Solapur, and Nagbhir.

The prime minister launched six more Vande Bharat trains in December 2023. They made up the second train that ran from Katra to New Delhi. Amritsar to Delhi, Coimbatore to Bangalore, Mangalore to Madgaon, Jalna to Mumbai, and Ayodhya to Delhi were among the other routes. In December 2023, the second train that runs between Delhi and Varanasi was also inaugurated.

Extensions will be canceled today. 
Additionally, on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the extension of four Vande Bharat trains.

  1.  Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat is being extended till Dwarka
  2. Ajmer- Delhi Sarai Rohilla Vande Bharat is being extended till Chandigarh
  3. Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat is being extended till Prayagraj
  4. Thiruvananthapuram- Kasargod Vande Bharat is being extended till Mangaluru

The most Vande Bharat train city

With ten trains ending in the capital, Delhi will host the most Vande Bharat trains of any city. These trains connect Delhi to a number of locations, such Amb Andaura, Bhopal, Dehradun, Ayodhya, Amritsar, and, as of late, Khajuraho.

Mumbai is the next stop, offering six express trains along with additional services to Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.
There are five trains in Chennai, and on Tuesday the second Vande Bharat train for Mysuru is expected to depart.
