WPL 2024 auction is over. 165 players had registered for this auction. Teams have bought a total of 30 players in this auction. All the franchises have completed their teams. Annabel Sutherland and Kashvi Gautam have received Rs 2 crore each. This player has become the most expensive player in the auction.
Gujarat, which won the highest purse of Rs 5 crore, made the highest bids and looked quite active.
Gujarat itself bought Kashvi. Kashvi, who came with a base price of Rs 10 lakh, was bought by Gujarat for Rs 2 crore by paying 20 times more. This player took 10 wickets in an ODI match in domestic under-19 cricket. UP Warriors take on Gujarat for Kashvi. But Gujarat was successful in winning.
RCB reached Vrinda
Another uncapped player Vrinda was also successful in getting 13 times more than her base price of Rs 10 lakh. He was joined by Royal Challengers Bangalore under the captaincy of Smriti Mandhana. While among the Indian cricketers, Kashvi and Vrinda did wonders, among the foreign cricketers, Australia’s Annabel Sutherland and Phoebe Litchfield earned a lot. Delhi Capitals added Sutherland for a price of Rs 2 crore. Gujarat paid Rs 1 crore for Lichfield. Earlier this year, Sutherland was released by Gujarat. Mumbai Indians also fought for Sutherland but Delhi got success.
Shabnim Ismail in Mumbai
Mumbai could not sign Sutherland but it definitely added South Africa’s Shabnim Ismal. Mumbai paid a price of Rs 1.20 crore to buy this player. Australia’s Georgia Wareham was signed by RCB for which it paid a price of Rs 40 lakh. The same team also added India’s senior spinner Ekta Bisht. RCB spent Rs 60 lakh for Ekta and Rs 30 lakh for England’s Kate Cross.
- No one bought Uma Chhetri.
- No one bought Nishu Chaudhary.
- Nobody bought Parunika Sisodia.
